About Us

Candace Phelps is a well respected licensed owner and designer of  CPDC Custom Window Treatments.  Since 1994, Candace has been specializing in residential and commercial custom window and soft furnishing designs. Her notable skill in conceptual design has earned her a reputation as one of Washington DC metro area premiere custom window treament designers. Her work has been featured in many International Showcases and industry publications. 

Born and raised in wild, wonderful West Virgina, Candace has always had an affinity for the natural elements of design and aesthetics. Candace graduated from Lincoln University (PA) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and studied fashion design at the prestigious Fashion Institute in New York City.

Candace began her career as a fashion designer. However, when Candace was asked to create drapery designs by a well known local interior design company, familiar with her design talent, she quickly translated the fashion design elements of color, line, shape, and texture into her drapery creations. Once the projects were competed, and Candace's talents were unveiled, she quickly rose to prominence as a much sought after custom window treatment designer.

Candace's passion for custom window design is reflected in the beautiful surroundings that she creates. An ability to collaborate with interior designers, contractors, and her clients have earned Candace a well deserved reputation as a true professional.

Some of Candace's professional accomplishments include:

• Window Fashions Certified Professional Specialist. 

• Conducted numerous lectures and workshops for hundreds of home sewers and industry professionals. 

•  Guest speaker to Drapery Design students at Montgomery College in Rockville MD.

• Candace's business, workshops and designs have been featured in Window Fashions Magazine, the Washington Post Home Section, The Washington Times and Fashion Institute of Technology Alumni Magazine.
